It's not easy to get to the Bahamian island called Harbour Island, but worth the trip, if you're in need of a few days of R & R.  This glorious, low-key island is psychologically as far away from city life as you can get--and so, we traveled there for a July 4th weekend getaway.  All you need is a bathing suit, suntan lotion and dark glasses.  It's a casual as can be.  If you go, get ready to feast your eyes on gorgeous sea and sky, at least six shades of blue.  Did I forget to mention the sand?  It's pale pink and soft and hot in July, but isn't that what we got to the beach for? The unending sea and sky in all directions, the surf and soft winds, and warmth that relaxes us to the bone...with nothing to do but eat and nap?  We dream of it in the biting winds of February when we brave the bitter cold going to work each day.  For more information, check out this link: http://www.harbourislandguide.com/about.htm .
